Accessibility Support

Our support for accessibility needs is centered around providing access to materials, supporting use of spaces, and offering welcoming events.

Access materials

If you have a qualifying disability that prevents you from reading or using print materials, we'll work to get an accessible copy of any item you wish to use from the library.

We can also modify library materials to make them accessible for students, faculty, and staff with an accommodation need. In addition, our team can support some Braille printing requests. Please submit your Braille request at least two weeks before you need something printed.

We have options for delivery of library materials as well as returns, and can help retrieve items off the shelves

For instructors preparing course materials, we have guidance around providing access through Canvas

Use our spaces

Prepare for your visit by consulting information about our locations. For each building, you'll find accessibility-centered transit and parking information, as well as navigation details focused on main entrances and restrooms. Computing options include adaptive technologies.

There are designated carrels in the Hatcher Library available to students connected with Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD).

We also have sensory kits and weighted lap pads as part of our special items and equipment available for checkout

Attend our events

Library events are free and open to the public. Requests for accommodations may be sent directly to the contact listed on specific events.

Beyond these specifics, our practices include integrating accessibility considerations across our environments, services, and products.
