Request From Offsite Shelving

Due to the size of our collection and limited space in our main library buildings, many of our materials are held in offsite shelving. You have to request these items in order to access them. 

All users affiliated with U-M can request items for pick up at a library desk. Choose the location most convenient for you and we’ll bring your item(s) there. 

Faculty, graduate students, and staff also have the option to request delivery to their department. We deliver to more than 200 verified departmental locations across campus.

Not affiliated with U-M?

We can send items in offsite shelving to the Hatcher LibraryArt, Architecture, and Engineering Library, or Music Library for you to use onsite.

Consult Library Catalog Search to find item information and complete the form to request items at least 3 business days before your visit.
