Museums Library

  • U-M museum curators and researchers have 24-hour access with an Mcard

  • All others are welcome by appointment only. To request a visit, please contact museums.library@umich.edu

  • The main entrance is accessible by ramp and has an automatic door

  • Located near South Campus in the Research Museums Center

Herbarium Library

Also located in the Research Museums Center, the Herbarium Library collects materials about plant systematics, floristics, and monographic studies. It is serviced by the same staff as the Museums Library, though a separate key is required for access.

Checking out materials

During staffed hours, all materials can be checked out in the Museums Library in room 1050.

To borrow items outside of our regularly staffed hours, use the self-checkout machine onsite with your Mcard or valid guest library card.

    Materials in the biological sciences at all levels of inquiry.

  2. Anthropology

    Materials on general anthropology, archaeology, social anthropology, biological anthropology, and anthropological linguistics.
