Status and Timeline

Design and construction of the repository is expected to take approximately three years.

The project is in the early planning and design phase, which is expected to take several months. 

As planning advances, we’ll share additional information about design, operations, service models, and collection strategies. The U-M Regents will need to approve the final design.

Operational impacts will be planned carefully to minimize disruption to access and service.
