About me

I am the Coordinator of Encoded Text Services for Digital Content & Collections. I'm responsible for the full-text content that is delivered online through interfaces hosted by the library, like DLXS, HathiTrust, and fishrappr.  Working with colleagues who create digitized content throughout the university and at other institutions, I transform and make searchable SGML and XML documents in a variety of markup schemes, including EAD, METS, and TEI.

I have an undergraduate degree in Medieval Studies (with a minor in Astronomy) from the University of Virginia (1993) and a Master of Science in Information and Library Studies from the University of Michigan (1995).  Before becoming a librarian, I worked as a library assistant at the RAF Lakenheath base library in England, and in Acquisitions at Old Dominion University and the University of Virginia.
