About Pam MacKintosh

The Undergraduate Research Award, which supports notable scholarly work by undergraduate students, is named after longtime U-M Librarian Pamela J. MacKintosh.

MacKintosh was instrumental in creating the awards program to honor student research. She cared deeply that undergraduate students who conducted research and used the library were recognized for their academic labor.

Prior to her death on December 22, 2019, she created an endowed fund to support the program in perpetuity.

MacKintosh joined the library in 1991. In October of 2019, she received the University Librarian Achievement Award, acknowledging exceptional distinction reflected in active and sustained professional achievements at the university.
