Philippine Scholars Research Fellowship

A month-long fellowship opportunity is available to Philippine researchers whose work would benefit from onsite access to library and museum collections at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This may include the U-M LibraryBentley Historical Library, and Museum of Anthropological Archaeology, among other collections.

The fellow will be awarded $8,000 for travel, visa, and one month of lodging expenses, as well as a small stipend. 

Eligibility

  • Open to Philippine nationals who are not U.S. citizens
  • Must be a faculty member or graduate student in a doctoral program
  • Projects can be academic or creative 
  • Non-U.S. citizens are required to obtain a J-1 visa if accepted

Timeline

  • Applications open on May 28, 2024
  • Applications are due by July 8, 2024
  • Notifications will be sent by July 26, 2024
  • Residency period and award may be used between August 1, 2024 and August 31, 2025
