What we do
We’re responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining systems and processes that support core library operational functions.
This includes acquisition and cataloging of materials, access to electronic materials and circulation (checkout) of physical materials, course reserves, publishing and indexing infrastructure behind Library Catalog Search, integration with interlibrary loan and document delivery systems, and more.
What we're working on
Our primary current focus involves facilitating the adoption of our new Library Services Platform, Alma. Among many other things, this includes:
- Managing and/or assisting with metadata cleanup projects, large and small.
- Creating and/or reimplementing integrations with many other systems, both internal (like interlibrary loan) and external (such as vendor ordering systems).
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving — sometimes with high-complexity — for other library employees that use Alma.
- Helping library employees understand the significant differences between how they need to use Alma versus our previous system.
