What we do

As part of the Organizational Development and Learning team in the Library Deans’ Office, our primary focus is to partner with library leaders and staff to recruit, develop, retain, advocate for and support our colleagues. We value working within the innovative and supportive community at the U-M Library. We support the library community through focusing on consistency, transparency, partnership, culture, equity and climate.

We connect with library leaders, faculty, and staff to ensure that the capabilities of library colleagues continue to meet current and future organizational needs. We collaborate with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team and engage library colleagues to ensure our practices support a culture and climate where all colleagues can thrive. We steward key aspects of the employee experience such as recruiting, onboarding, talent management, employee development, performance planning, compensation, and employee relations.
