Art and Design

The art and design collection includes exhibition catalogs from major galleries and museums, materials on contemporary art research and practice, and an extensive selection of magazines and journals related to the field. Contemporary and twentieth century art and design practice in Michigan are also an area of focus. The collection includes both academic and popular materials related to art and design.

Our collection serves the research and curricular needs of the Stamps School of Art and Design, as well as the contemporary art and design needs of the broader campus community and beyond.

Important related collections

The collection complements the library’s architecture and history of art collections. The artists’ books collection and the Book Arts Studio are also of note.
