About me

I support students, staff, and faculty by locating films, television shows, documentaries, and videos (physical and streaming) to aid in their research and personal enrichment. I aid in the growth of the University of Michigan's Askwith Media Library's collection. I maintain and add to the library's streaming services (Kanopy, Swank, Alexander Street, and more).

My personal research includes: nonfiction storytelling, the ethics of documentary film, motion picture preservation in both digital and physical formats, "so bad they're good" movies (e.g. The Room, Troll 2, Birdemic: Shock and Terror), and the history of film, with a focus on film movements including early Russian Cinema, Direct Cinema, French New Wave, and New Hollywood. I also shoot, edit, and produce short films, both narrative and non-fiction based stories.

I earned my MFA in documentary filmmaking from Wake Forest University, a BA in motion pictures studies from Western Carolina University, and an AAS in film and video production from Piedmont Community College.
