Engagement Fellows

These paid positions are available to both graduate and undergraduate students in any school or college who wish to strengthen their leadership and collaborative skills while working on projects related to libraries, research, and information.

As an engagement fellow, you would join a dynamic project team composed of library staff and other fellows selected based on their varied expertise and the needs of the project. To complete the project, you’ll be expected to serve in a leadership capacity in your area of interest — whether it’s project management, research, web design, the arts, and more.

Prior library experience is not required.

Commitment: 4–8 hours per week (may vary), October through April

Pay rate: $13 per hour

You must be:

  • A U-M undergraduate or graduate student
  • Enrolled for both the fall and winter terms

How to apply

We are currently seeking 5 to 7 student fellows for the 2021-2022 academic year. See the available projects and position descriptions

Submit your application by midnight on Monday, September 27.

In your application, you should clearly communicate how the project and position would contribute to your degree program and your professional goals.

You’re welcome to apply to more than one engagement fellowship position. If selected, you’ll be placed on the project that best fits your skill set and the needs of the project.
