Who we are
What we do
We deliver high-quality information services to academic schools and departments, research units, and the clinical enterprise, including Michigan Medicine. Our major schools and departmental partners include the Colleges of Engineering and Pharmacy, Schools of Dentistry, Environment and Sustainability, Kinesiology, Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health, and the Departments of Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics.
We provide instruction on information resources, information and data management, and searching methods using specialized databases and tools.
We provide tailored in-depth consultations, curriculum-integrated instruction, and office hours to meet the diverse information needs of our faculty, staff, and students.
We work directly on research and grant-funded projects that have been spearheaded within the library or the university to further discovery.
We actively collect and preserve information to foster academic, technical, and research excellence in the broad disciplines of HS-STEM.
We contribute regionally and nationally through leadership and active participation in library and discipline-specific professional organizations and associations.
We provide access to more than 670,000 print volumes, e-books, and e-journals, and more than 130 health sciences-related databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, and DynaMed, in addition to tools like the Anatomage Table.
During our open hours, we provide study spaces, including group study with monitors and writable walls and public computers. Additional 24/7 access is available in the THL Building for health sciences students. Another physical library, MLibrary@NCRC, is available at the North Campus Research Complex.
Located in the Art, Architecture and Engineering Library, our engineering librarians offer tailored instruction and specialized research and design support at all levels of the research lifecycle, from grant writing to publication to the 13 departments and the collegewide programs in the College of Engineering. We support independent inventors as a Patent and Trademark Resource Center.
We provide access to a wide spectrum of materials and maintain extensive holdings of major engineering society publications, industry standards, patents, technical reports, marketing information and U.S. government documents.
Science and Mathematics
We provide customized instruction and research consultation along every stage of the research lifecycle.
We collect an extensive and wide-ranging collection of resources relevant to scholars associated with Natural Sciences and the School of Environment & Sustainability.
