The Skillman Foundation’s Good Neighborhoods Initiative, launched in January 2006, provides full-scale support to six city neighborhoods where many children live. More than 65,000 children live in these neighborhoods, which make up about 30% of the child population in Detroit. 50% of the children in these neighborhoods live in poverty. The six neighborhoods are:
