Located on your right when you enter the Hatcher Library from the Diag.

This desk offers centralized services not available at other library locations.

Staff are here to help you all hours that the building is open.

Access our collections

Pick up books and other materials requested for delivery to the Hatcher Library here. This is also where you’ll pick up interlibrary loan materials, unless you requested a specific pick up or delivery location.

Come to the desk to check out materials you’ve gotten off the shelves, return materials, ask for help finding a particular title, and place requests for items in our collection.

If you request microforms, they’ll be waiting for you at Serials and Microforms Services.

Manage your library account

We can answer questions about anything related to your library account, as well as create new accounts. See who can borrow

This desk also handles registration for our various borrowing agreements with other institutions, as well as guest accounts.

If you have lost items, you can pay fines in person here or ask questions about a hold on your account.

Carrel key access

Pick up keys and register for carrels — semester, weekly, and for SSD registered students — at this location. See more about our bookable carrels.

Equipment checkout

We have bike bumps, Kill A Watt meters, CD/DVD/Blu-ray external drives with headphones, a graphing calculator, and a wireless slide advancer available for checkout
